Our Bereavement Support Team are here to help

When a loved one or a close relative passes away there’s a lot to do. Bank accounts may not be important right now, but it’s the very time when you may need access to money to pay funeral expenses for example.

Our Bereavement Support Team are here to help. They will be your single point of contact for the bank. 

Here is what you need to do now

We understand that this is a very difficult time for you. The easiest way to reach us is through our Notification of Customer’s Death form.

We promise that we will do what we can to help make this easier for you. We have a team that are here to support you. They know what to do.

So, if a customer of ours who is your partner, spouse or loved one has died please either:

•  Submit their details using our Notification of Customer’s Death form;

•  Write to us; If you prefer, you can fill in the Notification of Customer's Death form and post it to us: Bereavement Support Team, 3rd Floor, Unit 33, Blackthorn Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18, D18 E9T3;

•  Phone us on +353 1 6415182 Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm;

•  Visit your local AIB branch where a staff member can guide you through submitting the notification

Our Bereavement Support Team will tell any other departments in AIB that need to know and they will be in touch if needs be.

If the customer who has died held a business account, please contact the branch where they held the account.

If you would like to set up an Executors’ account to manage winding up the estate, your local branch can do this for you.
